Babies

In the first year, babies learn to focus their vision, reach out, explore, and learn about the things that are around them. Cognitive, or brain development means the learning process of memory, language, thinking, and reasoning.

Skills such as taking a first step, smiling for the first time, and waving "bye-bye" are part of a babies developmental milestones.

During this stage, babies are too developing bonds of love and trust with their parents and others as part of their social and emotional development. The way parents cuddle, hold, and play with their baby will set the foundation for how they will interact with them and others.

Our dedicated and loving staff at Horizon Lighthouse will ensure that your little one receives heaps of affection and will be provided every opportunity to explore.

Toddlers

Because of a Toddlers increasing need to be independent, this can be an exciting time for parents and Toddlers.

Toddlers will experience huge thinking, learning, social and emotional changes that will help them to explore their new world, and make sense of it.

During this stage, Toddlers should be able to follow two or three step directions, sort objects by shape and colour, imitate the actions of adults and playmates, and express a wide range of emotions.

At Horizon Lighthouse we focus and encourage children to reach their developmental milestones in how they play, learn, speak, behave, and move (like jumping, running, or balancing).

We encourage their abilities such as playing make believe, taking turns and kicking a ball, which are all part of your Toddlers developmental milestones.

Social interaction is vital and we encourage safe and friendly play.

Our Toddlers daily class routine consists of:-

  • Potty Training
  • Learning of Basic Colours, Shapes, and Objects
  • Arts and Crafts such as colouring, painting, pasting and writing patterns (dot-to-dot)
  • Pretend play
  • Singing
  • Story time
  • Theme discussions.
